Becca & Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector Review & Swatches!

Hello guys! Today I’m going to be talking about another purchase that I made in New York and this was one which I was determined to get my hands on, even before I arrived. As I’m sure you’ve guessed from the title, it’s the Becca and Jaclyn Hill collaboration highlighter, Champagne Pop.

I am a huge fan of Jaclyn Hill and love watching her videos – her makeup skills are incredible and I’ve learnt a lot by watching her. I love highlighters too, so when this collaboration happened I knew I had to try it for myself! I’ve never purchased any Becca products prior to this one, but I did some research online and thought their products looked great, so I was really excited to give it a go.

So, the packaging is pretty cute and is the same as the other Becca highlighters – a mix of plastic and metal. I purchased three of these (two were gifts) and with one the product was actually broken inside when I got back to my hotel, but Sephora exchanged it for another with no problem. Here’s what the packaging looks like:

Now onto the good stuff – the actual product! The name is suited to the highlighter as it is a champagne, rosy gold. One thing about this that I feel may not be for everyone – it is quite a warm-toned product. I personally love warm tones and tend to steer towards them more, however if you prefer cool tones you may not be so keen on this. On myself, this product looks better when I have applied fake tan, as I am naturally quite pale and I feel it is a little too warm for my natural skin colour. It does blend out very well, though, so you do lose some of the warmth on the skin.

It really is such a beautiful highlighter and not subtle at all – it’s intense, which I did expect as Jaclyn loves a dramatic highlight. This is perfect for me, as I love highlighting and always want mine to be noticeable! It definitely isn’t too strong in my opinion, but if you like an extremely natural look then this may be too much for you. Here it is swatched:

Finally, I really wanted to show you guys how the highlighter actually looks on the skin. Annoyingly, the lighting in my room at university is really terrible, so I’ve had to turn the brightness down a tiny bit on the photo. This is purely to show the product more as a true representative of how it looks in person, as my lighting wasn’t showing it too well when it really is quite a strong highlight! This is the only change i’ve made and unforunately it shows up the redness of my skin too, but never mind! Here is the highlight applied to the top of my cheekbones and underneath my brows:

Overall, I seriously love this product! It’s very pretty and a strong highlight, which I really love. I feel as though there may be some mixed feelings towards this as it is a warm tone and maybe more intense than some will like, however i’m very impressed with it! A little goes a long way and it gives a beautiful, dewy glow to the skin. I also love using this with a brush sprayed with Mac’s Fix + for even more intensity.

Let me know if you own Champagne Pop and what your opinion is of the product. Thanks so much for reading!
