Hi everyone! I’m sorry it’s taken me a while to get this post up, I’m about to start my final year at university and I’ve been so busy getting everything prepared!
Anyway, I have a really exciting review for you today: it’s of the brand new Charlotte Tilbury magic foundation. Charlotte Tilbury is hands down my all-time favourite makeup brand – I’ve never been disappointed by her products and although they’re a little more pricey than some, the quality is incredible.
When I realised that there was going to be a brand new foundation released, of course I couldn’t contain my excitement! As soon as it was released online, I took a look at the shades online and guessed shade 5 as a match for myself. Thank goodness it was the correct shade!
I love her products so much and from my experience with them, really trust the brand as a whole. So, I went ahead and ordered the Wonderglow primer and lip cheat in the shade Iconic Nude too, which i’ll be reviewing in another post. Here they all are (the magic foundation is top left, lip cheat top right and primer at the bottom):
So, as the star product and a brand new release, let’s talk about the magic foundation. Charlotte Tilbury has been working on this product for 5 years The packaging is, as always with Charlotte Tilbury’s products, beautiful. The foundation is housed in a glass bottle, with a rose gold lid.
I will say that it is a very full coverage foundation, so if you tend to stick to very light coverage you may not like this. I personally prefer more of a medium/full coverage for evenings and nighttime and have so far worn the magic foundation in the daytime and evening, too.
So far, I’m really loving it! I’ve been applying it with a damp Beautyblender and it’s very buildable, so I wear slightly more in the evenings and less for daytime. Either way, it blends amazingly and stays put for hours. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin and doesn’t cake in the slightest. I’ve been setting the magic foundation with my Nars translucent powder on a large fluffy brush, as I believe a heavy powder may be too much.
It doesn’t cover every single blemish, but applying concealer over the top for any blemishes it doesn’t cover still looks great and the foundation is so smooth; products blend over the top incredibly easily. Overall, I’m incredibly pleased and haven’t worn anything else since purchasing this. It stays in place for hours without budging, too, and is very hydrating on my dry skin. Here’s how it looks on with the rest of my makeup:
Charlotte Tilbury has found the perfect balance of coverage and lightweight formula in this foundation and I’m sold! I can’t wait to review the primer and lip cheat, too!
